Birth, death, and marriage records are confidential and are not open for public inspection.

THE FREEDOM OF INFORMATION LAW (FOIL) DOES NOT APPLY TO VITAL RECORDS. Section 4173 of the NYS Public Health Law and Part 35 of the State Commissioner’s Administration Rules & Regulations place restrictions on access to these records. Searching of records must be conducted only by the Registrar, the Deputy Registrar, or an authorized employee of the Registrar. In the Town of Black Brook, the Town Clerk serve as Registrar.

Public Records Access:

To request access to public records of the Town of Black Brook, you must complete the attached application and forward it to the Town Clerk of the Town of Black Brook.

1. All requests must be in writing.
2. Copies of records may be obtained at $.25 per 8 1/2” x 10 1/2” copy. Documents any larger and for reproducing photographs, maps, etc, the actual cost of reproduction will be charged, as well as mileage and time.
3. Allow five (5) business days for acknowledgment of receipt of your request.
