Planning Board

Duties

The Planning Board is authorized to review and approve, approve with conditions, or disapprove site plans pursuant to and in accordance with the standards and procedures set forth in the Zoning Ordinance.

The purpose of the Ordinance is to allow the proper integration into the community of the uses listed in the Ordinance and which may be suitable within a zoning district only on certain conditions and only at appropriate locations. The Board reviews the impact of such actions on surrounding properties, the impact on the natural, historic, and scenic resources of the Town, protection of the health, safety, and welfare of the community, and substantial conformance with the Town of Black Brook Land Use Plan and Master Plan.

The Planning Board meets on the second Monday of every month at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall, except when the date conflicts with a holiday. Applications to be included on the agenda for any monthly meeting must be submitted prior to the deadline of that month.
