Fresh Food Monday Update

We would like to extend a huge thank you to our JCEO Representative, Renee, and all of her incredible Monday helpers who volunteer their time each week to put together Fresh Food Boxes for our community members.

This past Monday, our Fresh Food Day provided 46 boxes to 46 families, the most we have ever served since beginning this program several years ago. This milestone shows just how important this service is to families within our community.

We are proud to offer this resource, and we are incredibly grateful for Renee and the dedicated volunteers who show up each week to lend a helping hand. Your kindness, consistency, and commitment make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many.

Thank you all for everything you do for our community.

Thank You

Good morning!

As we gear up for the holiday season, we would like to extend a very special thank you to everyone who has brought donations to our JCEO Representative, Renee. In just three weeks, our Food Pantry has received $1,250.00 in monetary donations and an incredible amount of food items.

In addition, our Community Cares Shelf has been blessed with donations of coats, boots, hats, gloves, and scarves, ensuring families stay warm this winter. We have also begun receiving Thanksgiving baskets that will be distributed to families in need this holiday season.

We are now officially kicking off our Christmas Gift Drive, running now through December 17th.

Drop-off locations include:

  • Town of Black Brook Office
  • Family Dollar
  • Black Brook General Store

This marks the Black Brook General Store’s 3rd year participating in the drive, thank you Rob and Michelle for your continued support! We also want to welcome Beth and Family Dollar for joining us this year. Thank you, Beth, for reaching out and wanting to be part of helping families in our community.

We are asking for new, unwrapped toys, crafts, books, and games suitable for ages 0–18.

We are incredibly grateful for the community we live in and the generosity that continues to shine year after year.

Lastly, we are excited to share that the Town will be sponsoring the Hot Cocoa Bar and Cookies at the Library’s Christmas in the Forks Celebration on December 6th at 10:00 AM. We hope to see you there!

See you around Town and thank you all for your kindness and support.

CLINTON COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT HEALTHY NEIGHBORHOODS PROGRAM

Healthy Neighborhoods Program

How safe is your home? If a fire were to occur in your home would your family know what to do? When was the last time you checked the batteries in your smoke detector? Have you talked with your family about a fire escape plan for your home? Do you have a carbon monoxide detector? Does your home even need one?

Are these questions you are hearing for the first time today? If so, you may benefit from a visit from the Clinton County Healthy Neighborhoods Program.

The Healthy Neighborhoods Program (HNP) is a grant-funded program designed to help improve the personal health, safety, and environmental living conditions of residents within Clinton County. HNP is able to do this through health and safety surveys that are conducted with participants of the program. The survey covers 5 main topics: fire safety, lead, indoor air quality, injury prevention, and asthma. Based on the outcome of the survey, and program eligibility, HNP may be able to provide the participant with various safety products as well as health and safety education. HNP is FREE to all Clinton County residents regardless of age or income.
